KNU and KKO members who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorist group, detonated an explosive, causing the destruction of a reinforced concrete bridge in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State

     Extremist terrorist groups are engaging in subversive activities, including setting fires and detonating explosives on public roads and bridges, with the aim of disrupting regional road connections.
     The incident occurred that, on 15 December at 05:30 AM, KNU and KKO members who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorist group, detonated an explosion at the Kawtnwet Bridge along the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway, between mileposts 141 and 142 in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State. As a result of the explosion, the reinforced concrete bridge, measuring approximately 205 feet in length and 35 feet in width, was collapsed and damaged. Consequently, the bridge became impassable for vehicles, it is reported.
     Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridge and security personnel are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the terrorists who blew up the bridge as soonest in accordance with law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
