In some Townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instil fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, security personnel received a report stating that a male was shot dead around 7:05 AM on 14 June 2024 near Kyo Pin Wine village in Pauk Khaung Township, Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Myo Min Tun (aka) Pwa Gyi (39 years old). In the incident, when the victim left his home to herd cattle and arrived near the edge of the village, he was shot dead by so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) arriving with three motorbikes and died on the spot.
Similarly, security personnel received a report stating that a male was shot dead at 09:30 AM near Htan Pin Chaung Lay village in Paung Township, Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while U Chit Win (74 years old) a village administrator was together with his son U Aung Zaw Htway (47 years old) and grandson Maung Aung Pan (19 years old) at his home, certain KNU members supporting terrorism and two so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) appeared and opened fire on them killing U Chit Win on the spot. The armed terrorists also took two handphones, a gold chain, a gold ring and 5 million kyats in cash from the house. Although one was killed, the other two were not reportedly injured.
On the same day at 11:45 AM, it was reported that a man was injured from getting shot in Dawe Zay ward of Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. It was found out that U Nay Oo Lwin (38 years old) while he was at a betel shop called Kaung Sat in the ward, two so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) riding a motorbike arrived, shot him and drove away. He was injured from the shooting and sent to Sagaing Public Hospital for medical treatment.
Similarly, security personnel received a report stating that a male was shot dead at 06:00 PM in Nwe Yone village, Singu Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Aung Ko Ko (54 years old) a resident of the village. Two so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) riding a motorbike shot him and drove away while the victim was walking from home to the village volleyball court. The victim was killed on the spot, it was reported.
Similarly, security personnel received a report stating that a male was shot dead at 7:30 PM on the same day in No. (1) ward of Shwelong Town, Wakema Township, Ayeyarwady Rgion. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Ye Yint Aung (33 years old) a resident of the ward. It was also found that while U Ye Yint Aung was together with his wife Daw Ei Ei Thwe, his son Mg Lin Thit Kyaw (six years old) at his house, two so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) arrived by a motorbike and recklessly opened fire on them. As a result, U Ye Yint Aung got injuries and later died of gunshot injuries while receiving medical treatments at Shwe Laung Circuit Hospital.
Similarly, security personnel received a report stating that a male was shot dead at 8:50 PM on the same day near Ohnshitkone village, Sinpaungwae Township, Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Thein Saung (37 years old) a resident of Pyin Chaung village, Sinpaungwae Township and it was also found that the victim was shot dead by five so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) arriving by three motorbikes while the victim was in farm hat two miles to the east of Ohnshitkone village.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the deaths of administrative officals and innocent civilians in the cases mentioned above, it is reported.
