Extremist terrorist groups are engaging in subversive activities, including setting fires and detonating explosives on public roads and bridges, with the aim of disrupting regional road connections.
The incident occurred that, on 14 December at 11:00 PM, KNU members who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorist group, detonated an explosion at the Thapyay Creek Bridge, located on the Nhintkayin-Ahnin Village Connected Road near Kawtpon Village in Ye Township, Mon State. As a result of the explosion, the reinforced concrete bridge, which spans approximately 100 feet, was slightly damaged. Despite the damage, vehicles can still pass through, it is reported.
Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridge and security personnel are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the terrorists who blew up the bridge as soonest in accordance with law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
