Some of the state-owned and private communic ation towers were built and installed to facilitate telecommunication and information flow among people were set fire and destroyed by political extremists who oppose social development and stability of the people in the country. It has been found that acts of terrorism include arson and explosive attacks are carried out on communication towers.
Since they are conducting such destructive acts, on 13 August at 03:30 AM, KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists blew up a homemade mine at a MYTEL telecommunication tower installed in the house yard of U Zaw Win, 50 years old, who lives in Ywarlal Street of Wargamani Village in Daik-U Township of Bago Region. As a result of the explosion, a generator and four batteries, which were set up on the tower (collectively valued at approximately MMK 200 lakhs), were destroyed. There was no disruption to communication services in the area, it is reported.
Security force members are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the perpetrators who blew up and destroyed a MYTEL telecommunication tower as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
