In the evening of 28 June, members KKO (Splinter Group) who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons targeting at security personnel taking security measures in Kawkareik Town of Kayin state, resulting in the death of an innocent civilian and injuries to three others.
The incident happened that, on 28 June at 05:30 PM, members KKO (Splinter Group) who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons targeting at security personnel taking security measures in Kawkareik Town of Kayin state. The attack initiated from a location approximately 2500 meters northeast. When the security personnel returned fire, the terrorists retreated. The shells fell on ward (2), Kawkareik Township. Due to the explosions of the shells, one male innocent civilian was killed, three others got injured, and a motorcycle was destroyed in fire, it is reported.
The injured people in the above-mentioned incident are taken to district public hospital by philanthropic vehicle owned by Palaephyu Free Funeral Service Society (Kawkareik) for medical treatment.
Security forces are taking necessary measures to take legal actions against the terrorists who fired heavy weapons towards the Town where innocent civilians reside, and also to ensure the community peace and stability, it is reported.
