Monks, Administrative Officials and Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So- called PDF Terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are monks, administrative officials, and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants, or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on July 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Kyun Taw (Ah-lal) Ward, Sanchaung Township, Yangon Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Ward Administrator U Khin Soe (56 Years Old) and a resident of the ward. While he was sitting alone in front of the “Angle Lin” fried chicken and rice shop located at the corner of Baho street and Phyarpon Street, a terrorist arrived, opened fire on him, and then fled. Consequently, U Khin Soe died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:30 PM, a report stated that a monk was shot dead in Lal Byar Village, Mahaling Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Buddhist monk called Bhadanta Battanda Kawmala (aka) U Kyaw Shwe (50 years old), (30 years of monkhood) at the “Min Kyaung” monastery in the village. While the monk was at the monastery, five so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles and opened fire on him accusing him of being a “Decoy”. Consequently, the monk passed away on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 9:15 PM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in Aung Thar Yar Ward, Chanmyatharzi Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Nyunt Shwe (61 years old) and a resident of the ward. While he was sitting in front of the auxiliary fire service office in the ward, two so-called PDF terrorists arrived by a motorcycle and opened fire on him, resulting in his injuries. He was transported to Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of monk, administrative officials and innocent civilian in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
