Monks and Innocent Civilians Injured in Drone Bomb Attack on Ward by Insurgents Committing Terrorists Activities

     Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 22 August, 2024 at 5:00 PM, a report stated that drone bomb attack occurred in Padamyar Ward in Kathar Township of Sagaing Region. Upon further investigation by security personnel, it was discovered that the incident had take place on 21 August at 2:40 PM, when a bomb dropped by a so-called PDF terrorist group exploded on the Indaw-Kathar road near Padamyar Ward in Kathar Township. As a result, three monks Wi Ri Ya (47 years old) with 27 years in monkhood, Wuna (68 years old) with eight years in monkhood and Pyin Nyein Da (36 years old) with three years in monkhood from a monastery in Kyan Taw Village, along with Ko Min Nyein Htoo (22 years old) and Ko Min Zin Zin (26 years old) both residents of Pein Nhel Kone Village, who were all passing by the area at the time, sustained injuries from shrapnel. All the injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at Kathar Township Public Hospital, it is reported. 
     Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside monks and innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
