In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 13 October, 2024 at 8:00 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Aung Chan Thar Village, Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims U Paing Lay (aka) Ko Paing (32 years old) and Ko Win Naung Htay (23 years old), both residents of the village. While the victims were at their house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and abducted them. Later, along a bullock cart path approximately 100 yards west of the village, the terrorists opened fire on them. As a result, the victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 9:45 AM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in No. (11) Ward, Hlaingtharyar (Western) Township of Yangon Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim U Thant Zin (37 years old), a resident of Ah Twin Padan Village in Hlaingtharyar (Western) Township. While the victim was cleaning inside the Aung Min Galar Monastery in the ward, a so-called PDF terrorist arrived and opened fire on him, before fleeing. As a result, the victim sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to No.1 Military Hospital (1000 bedded) for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 10:15 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Tha Eain Thal Village, Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Kyaw Si Thu (31 years old), a resident of Thin Teik Ward in Sagaing Township. While the victim was at “Htet Shine” tea shop in Si Te Ward, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and abducted him. Later, when the terrorists reached a bullock cart path southeast of Tha Eain Thal Village, they opened fire on him. As a result, victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 2:15 PM, a report stated that two men were injured by gunfire in Myoma Ward, Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Htay Hlaing Tun (40 years old), a resident of the ward and U Min Aung (39 years old), a resident of Yin Taw San Village in Amarapura Township. While the victims at the “Sit Pyan Gyi” pub in Myoma Ward, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on them, before fleeing. As a result, the victims sustained gunfire wounds and were transported to Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of innocent civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
