Roads/bridges are being constructed as basic infrastructure for the development of socio-economic life in the region and to facilitate convenient and swift transportation for the people. Armed insurgents who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists, who oppose peace and development in the country, have been carrying out reckless acts by blowing up and destroying roads/ bridges with homemade mines and homemade bombs.
The incident happened that, on 1 May at 03:50 AM, pro-violence members from the KNU and a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) blew up and destroyed the No. (1/8) reinforced concrete bridge (locally known as Yaekyi over creek bridge), between mile-post number 6/5 and 6/6 of the Nyaunglebin-Madaut-Shwegyin Road in Yaekyichaung Village of Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region. The explosion caused the bridge to collapse from the middle, making it impossible for people and vehicles to pass through, it is reported.
Security force members are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the perpetrators, who blew up and destroyed the public reinforcement concrete bridge, as soonest in accordance with laws and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
