On the evening of 30 May 2023, the incident happened that a male terrorist (under scrutiny) gunned down Singer-cum-Actress Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw in front of her residential place where apartment No. (7) of building No. (A/265) in Yanaung Street, No. (2) Ward, Yankin Township and fled from the spot, she was killed with the gunshot wounds.
The security force members exerted efforts round the clock to arrest the perpetrators who murdered Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw. In this regard, according to the reports of the people who oppose terrorism and who want justice, and investigations received, security force members arrested the perpetrators Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET at the male boarding-house in Kamayut Township on the morning of June 4.
According to the confessions of the arrested offenders; Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET; in June 2021, they attended a terrorist explosive training conducted in KNLA Brigade (1) area. They joined the so-called Special Task Force-STF terrorist group in June 2022 and attended a terrorist explosive training organized by the so-called STF terrorist group near Bawdai Village in Kawkareik Township.
According to the confessions of the arrested offenders; the fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel formed the so-called Special Task Force-STF terrorist group at a camp near Bawdai village of Kawkareik Towsnhip in KNLA Brigade (6) area in January 2022 in order to kill innocent civilians and conduct acts of violence in Yangon.
According to the confessions of the arrested offenders; in July 2022, the camp near Bawdai Village, where so-called STF terrorist group members were hiding, had to flee within Kawkareik Township due to the attack and confiscate of the camp by the Tatmadaw (military). In the first week of January in 2023, the fugitive De Nyein Lin sent 26 members of terrorist group called STF to Yangon Region to acts of violence, forming small groups.
The arrested perpetrators Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET returned to Yangon City from Kawkareik Township and rented a room in a male boarding-house in Kamayut Township for one lakh per month. Then, perpetrator Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae worked at a car workshop in Bayintnaung goods and warehouses compound, while Kyaw Thura (aka) ET worked at an inflate and patch shop in Thingangyungyi Ward in Mingalardon Township, and they were awaiting instructions from the fugitive De Nyein Lin to carry out terrorist acts.
During their stay, the fugitives De Nyein Lin, Hazel, Yathaw and Nway Nway from the so-called STF terrorist group ordered the so-called STF terrorist group members who have arrived in Yangon City to do acts of violence via Telegram channel.
According to the confession of the perpetrator Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae, on 25 May 2023, the fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel ordered them to kill Daw Lily Naing Kyaw and sent her photos and personal data to them via Telegram channel. On 28 May, the fugitive Hazel delivered a Sig Sauer pistol, together with two magazines and 20 bullet rounds, to them.
According to the confessions of the arrested offenders; Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET daily watched the apartment of Daw Lily Naing Kyaw to kill her. On 30 May, Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae killed Daw Lily Naing Kyaw in front of the apartment.
The perpetrators gave back the pistol and ammunition used in the terrorist murder to a member of so-called STF terrorist group on 31 May under the arrangement of the fugitive Yathaw. The fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel provided 300,000 kyats to them via Wave Pay application for the killing of Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw.
It is reported that measures will be taken to take harsh legal actions against the arrested offenders. The entire public is encouraged to report any information about fugitives to relevant authorities in confidence, in order to arrest the related offender as soonest. The whistle-blowers and those who are arrested are being given a deserved and confidential reward, and that the entire public is requested to work together to restore peace and stability to the towns and villages as soon as possible.
