On the evening of 12 June, 2023, two males (under investigation) made a grenade attack on Lewe Myoma police station, and at the night of the same day, three males (under investigation) also carried out a grenade attack on the entrance (2) to the MICC-II located in Nyarna Aungmyay Road, Bawgatheikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, Naypyitaw Council area.
The security force members exerted efforts round the clock to arrest the perpetrators of terror acts. In this regard, according to the people who want justice and who oppose the acts of violence and ground information received, security force arrested the perpetrators Thet Naing and taxi driver Yan Naing Tun, who threw grenades at Lewe Myoma police station and the entrance (2) to the MICC-II, at the “Ywatthit” teashop located near Aharathukha Market in Pyinmana Township, on 13 June.
Moreover, according to the confession of arrested perpetrator Thet Naing, another perpetrators Ye Naing and taxi driver Iphouk (aka) Yan Naing Oo were arrested at the check point of the entrance of Leiktho town.
As crime never pays, these four perpetrators were arrested within 10 hours because of the public participation.
According to confessions of the perpetrators, thanks to the fugitive Shan Lay, the perpetrator Thet Naing and Ye Naing, who were working randomly jobs within Naypyitaw Council area, were familiar to the fugitive Zin Yaw (aka) Hngat Phyu (aka) Nay Lin, the leader of the terrorist group called Sittaung Urban Guerilla. Zin Yaw persuaded them that he would pay cash to them for it if they joined the acts of violence in Nay Pyi Taw council area. So, they accepted what he persuaded for their personal interests.
According to confessions of the arrested perpetrators, the fugitive Zin Yaw (aka) Hngat Phyu (aka) Nay Lin gave two hand-grenades to Thet Naing, Ye Naing and the fugitive Athaylay. They went Paseylar village in Kayah State on June 10, 2023 to receive those grenades. Later, on June 11, they watched twice to Lewe Myoma police station and the entrance (2) to the MICC-II for the grenade attacks.
According to confessions of the arrested perpetrators, on June 12, under the instruction of the fugitive Zin Yaw (aka) Hngat Phyu (aka) Nay Lin, Thet Naing, Ye Naing and the fugitive Athaylay took two grenades together with them by two motorcycles. Then, they threw one grenade at the Lewe Myoma police station before fleeing. The fugitive Athaylay monitored the situation in this incident.
Similarly, in the evening, the three perpetrators then went to the MICC-II by two motorcycles and threw a grenade at the entrance (2) to the MICC-II. Ye Naing monitored the situation in this incident. Then they fled away.
According to their confessions, the fugitive Zin Yaw (aka) Hngat Phyu (aka) Nay Lin provided 300,000 kyats for each. However, security personnel went in search of them in Nay Pyi Taw Council area for arrest. While they managed to flee to Kayah State, they were arrested.
It is reported that measures will be taken to take harsh legal actions against the arrested offenders. The entire public is encouraged to report any information about fugitives to relevant authorities in confidence, in order to arrest the related offender as soonest. The whistle-blowers and those who are arrested are being given a deserved and confidential reward, and that the entire public is requested to work together to restore peace and stability to the towns and villages as soon as possible.
