Acting on a tip stating that four male terrorists arriving by two motorbikes were robbing the Kanbawza-KBZ Bank (1) in Panbaetan ward of Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region on 19 June, 2024 at 4:30 PM, a combined patrolling team taking security measures in the community area of wards took timely action to arrest the suspects.
As the combined patrolling team arrived at the KBZ Bank within 10 minutes and raided the Bank to arrest the perpetrators of the robbery, one of the male terrorists was arrested in death and the robbed money of Kyat 303.1 million in cash, two mobile phones, a homemade pistol, nine rounds of its bullet, a grenade (type under scrutiny) and two motorbikes used in the crime were also seized.
According to the investigation, the ones who robbed the bank were found to be the group led by Sin Rine (aka) Khine Saw Lin from No (2) PDF battalion based in Paunghla village of Sagaing District. The dead terrorist at the scene was identified as Ko Naung from the group.
It is reported that security personnel are taking necessary measures as per security protocol by blocking the entry and exit of the town to identify and arrest the remaining suspects escaping from the crime of robbery.
