So-Called PDF Terrorist Group Threatens Teachers Enrolling Students, Aiming to Disrupt Education Sector in Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region

     Terrorist groups are committing inhumane acts with the intent to disrupt the education system, which is dedicated to improving and advancing children’s learning. These acts include the destruction of school textbooks and stationery, the intimidation and abduction of education staff and students, targeted killings, and the planting of explosive devices to destroy educational buildings.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 24 May at 9:20 AM, while teachers at a Basic Education High School in Gyo Village, Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region, were conducting student enrollment activities, three armed so-called PDF terrorists entered the school premises. They threatened the staff, saying, Who gave you orders to run the school? Who allowed you to resume? We’re sparing you out of pity for the students, but if you continue operating, we will shoot and kill you. After the intimidation, they left the scene. The school has 21 teachers, seven administrative staff total of 28 education staff, including the headmistress, Daw Khin Moe Thet, and has already enrolled 82 students for the 2025-2026 academic year, it is reported.
     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
