On the morning of 12 May, so-called PDF terrorists burned down public houses in Yanaungmyay Ward of Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, it is reported.
The incident happened that, on 12 May at 03:15 AM, so-called PDF terrorists launched a small arms attack on security personnel who were carrying out local security measures in Chaung-U Township from approximately 300 meters west of the Myanmar Economic Bank. When security personnel retaliated, the terrorists retreated and fled towards the south. During their retreat, the terrorists deliberately set fire to public houses in Yanaungmyay Ward, with the intention of misleading others into believing that the security personnel were responsible for the arson, it is reported.
Myanmar Police Force members and fire services personnel, along with three fire-fighter vehicles and four water-carrier vehicles, were dispatched to the scene. They worked together to extinguish the fire, which was successfully put out around 04:15 AM. The fire resulted in the destruction of 20 public houses.
It is reported that security personnel continue taking necessary security measures to ensure the terrorists who burnt down the public houses of the innocent civilians are arrested and taken actions against them, and to maintain stability and peace in the region.
