With the aims to create an uneducated society following the loss of children’s rights to education as well as to support them by making people very frightened, the NUG, CRPH, and their subordinates so-called PDF terrorist Groups, which the Government has declared as terrorist organizations, are conducting various kinds of destructive activities across the country such as intimidation and coercion against students, teachers and parents; abductions and killings of students, teachers and parents; arson and bombing attacks on schools. In addition to the acts aforesaid, so-called PDF terrorists, with destructive emotions, are making acts of vandalism against the government’s efforts on education sector development such as putting textbooks and teaching/learning aids to the torch; and taking those forcibly.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 June at 02:00 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) arrived inside the compound of the Basic Education High School in (Gagyi) Ward of Lounglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, by forcibly breaking the lock of the main building door. The terrorists proceeded to write threatening and opposing words with the intention to undermine children's rights to education. Furthermore, they conducted a thorough search of the teachers' lounge and library, destroying ten cabinets and causing damage to books and a Canon IR 3235 copier, it is reported.
Similarly, at 02:10 PM, while 53 teachers were on duty and 802 students were learning at the No. (1) Basic Education High School in Poetan Ward of Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, two male terrorists (under scrutiny), who were riding a motorcycle, threw two homemade bombs at the school. The bombs exploded between the brick wall and the brick water tank within the school compound. The explosions caused no damage or injuries to buildings or people, it is reported.
Furthermore, at 08:50 PM, an insurgent group (total number – under scrutiny) blew up a mine at the motorcycle parking located inside the Township Education Officer office in No. (2) Ward of Thandaunggyi Township, Kayin State. The mine exploded at the location, causing damage to four window glasses of the office and the zinc roofs of the motorcycle parking structure, it is reported.
Likewise, on 6 June at 07:40 AM, terrorists (total number – under scrutiny) detonated a homemade mine beside the median of a Road located approximately 150 feet away from the Basic Education High school in Kyaukmee Village of Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region. The homemade mine exploded at the location, causing no damage or injuries to buildings or people, it is reported.
Security personnel are doing required investigations to find and apprehend those terrorists involved in the aforementioned threats and to take legal action against them. The public was urged to oppose the NUG and so-called PDF terrorist groups who committed nefarious acts and participate in protecting security for the future of children by providing the information about terrorists’ movements to concerned administration bodies, it is reported.
In Lounglon Township, the compound of a Basic Education High School was vandalized and words of opposition and threats were written.
