So-called PDF terrorists conduct disruptive acts against education sector development in Thayetchaung Township to create uneducated classes in the society

     With the aims to create an uneducated society following the loss of children’s rights to ed ucation as well as to support them by making people very frightened, the CRPH, NUG and their subordinates PDF terrorist Groups, which the Government has declared as terrorist organizations, are conducting various kinds of destructive activities across the country such as intimidation and coercion against students, teachers and parents; abductions and killings of students, teachers and parents; heavy weapon attacks, dropping bombs using drones, arson and bombing attacks on educational buildings. In addition to the acts aforesaid, PDF terrorists, with destructive emotions, are making acts of vandalism against the government’s efforts on education sector development such as putting textbooks and teaching/learning aids to the torch; and taking those forcibly.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 September at 02:30 AM, six so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) arrived on three motorcycles and entered the Basic Education Post Primary School in Yantaung Village of Thayetchaung Township, Tanintharyi Region. Subsequently, they left threatening messages written in red spray paint on the brick wall in front of a classroom, along with a round of M-16 ammunition, a round of 9-ball ammunition, and two red spray paint cans on the balcony of classroom. The school, which employs 11 teachers and educates 187 students, has been temporarily closed due to security concerns arising from this incident, it is reported.

     Security personnel are doing required investigations to find and apprehend those terrorists involved in the aforementioned threats and to takae legal action against them in accordance with necessary security measures, it is reported.
