With the aims to create an uneducated society following the loss of children’s rights to education as well as to support them by making people very frightened, the NUG, CRPH, and their subordinates PDF terrorist Groups, which the Government has declared as terrorist organizations, are conducting various kinds of destructive activities across the country such as intimidation and coercion against students, teachers and parents; abductions and killings of students, teachers and parents; arson and bombing attacks on schools. In addition to the acts aforesaid, PDF terrorists, with destructive emotions, are making acts of vandalism against the government’s efforts on education sector development such as putting textbooks and teaching/learning aids to the torch; and taking those forcibly.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 June at 02:00 PM, according to the report indicated that a threat letter was written and window glasses were broken in the Basic Education Sub-High School in Kalarkyun Village of Wakema Township, Ayeyarwady Region, security personnel went to the scene to inspect. Upon inspection, it is found that nine window glasses of the “Gantgaw” school building and one had been shattered and destroyed. Additionally, a threat letter, that aimed to undermine children’s rights to education, was found written on the wall of Gantgaw building using a brick. The security personnel cleared and removed the threat letter, it is reported.
Similarly, on 16 June at 08:40 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) recklessly opened fire with improvised rockets towards the No. (2) Basic Education High School where teachers serve and students learn, located in No. (1) Ward of Myaing Township, Magway Region. Two improvised rockets landed and exploded on a Road in No. (3) Ward, while another improvised rocket fell and exploded between a two-story school building and the “Yadanar” school building within the school compound. As a result of the explosion, three window glasses of the two-story school building were damaged, it is reported.
Security personnel are doing required investigations to find and apprehend those terrorists involved in the aforementioned threats and to take legal action against them. The public was urged to oppose the NUG and PDF terrorist groups who committed nefarious acts and participate in protecting security for the future of children by providing the information about terrorists’ movements to concerned administration bodies, it is reported.
