So-called PDF terrorists launched an IED attack near the park, east of Yantaiaung Pagoda, located near the Town entrance gate in Ward (1), Lashio Town, Northern Shan State.
On April 13 at 11:45 AM, the first day of Thingyan (Akyo Day), an IED planted by so-called PDF terrorists on red vehicle (Honda Fit) exploded in a parking area near the park, east of Yantai Aung pagoda in Lashio (Northern Shan state). The pagoda is crowded with local pilgrims and visitors. Due to the explosion, four innocent pilgrims were died on the spot and 11 people including a three-year-old child got injured.
Security forces managed to send injured people to public hospital in Lashio and are taking necessary measures to identify and arrest those who intentionally launched IED attack in a place where pilgrims and visitors are crowded, during the Thingyan festival, it is reported.
