Some of the state-owned and private communication towers were built and installed to facilitate telecommunication and information flow among people were set fire and destroyed by political extremists who oppose social development and stability of the people in the country. It has been found that acts of terrorism include arson and explosive attacks are carried out on communication towers.
The incident occurred that, on 1 November at 06:00 AM, according to the report indicated that so-called PDF terrorists set fire to a MYTEL communication tower installed on the roadside of the Simeekhone-Nabuaei Road located near Kani Village in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region. Security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. Upon inspection, it is found that the tower was set on fire by pouring gasoline. As a result of the fire, a 13 KV power generator, 10 batteries (48-volt), a 13 KV gasoline pump, a battery cabinet air conditioner, the tower and wires were destroyed, it is reported.
Security personnel are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the terrorists who set fire to a MYTEL communication tower as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
