So-Called PDF Terrorists Shoot Passenger Watercraft Near Shat Pon Village in Palaw Township: Woman Killed, Three Women Injured and Five Men Missing

     On September 12, so-called PDF terrorists affiliated with the CRPH and NUG opened fire on a watercraft near Shat Pon Village in Palaw Township, resulting in the death of one woman, injuries to three women and the disappearance of five men, it is reported.
     The incident occurred on 12 September, 2024 at 12:30 PM, a passenger boat captained by U Tin Oo and helmed by Ko Aung Naing Thu, both residents of Nan Taung Village in Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region, was travelling from Palaw Town to Ma Li Village. The boat was carrying three men and 11 women as passengers. When the watercraft was near a nipa palm forest along Shat Pon Village, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on it. As a result, Ma Aye Chan Moe (26 years old), a resident of Za Yat Seik Village, died on the spot, while Daw Than Htay (64 years old), Daw Naw Si Than Hla (aka) Ma Pu (50 years old) and Daw Khine (49 years old), all also residents of Za Yat Seik Village, sustained gunshot wounds. Additionally, U Kyaw Swe (45 years old), Ko Ka Yin (23 years old), U Ba Than (50 years old), U Tin Oo (54 years old) and Ko Aung Naing Thu (23 years old) are still missing. The deceased and injured women were transported to Palaw Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
     Due to the wanton attack by so-called PDF terrorists affiliated with the CRPH and NUG on innocent civilians who were not military targets, lives were lost and others were injured. Consequently, local residents are vehemently protesting against these acts of terrorism and are refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary measures in collaboration with the local residents to ensure safety, it is reported.
