So-called PDF terrorists recklessly attacked with improvised mortars, small arms and drop bombs using drones on Yamanay Village in Kambalu Township of Sagaing Region. During the attack, six innocent civilians including two children were killed and three others sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel, it is reported.
The incident happened that on 12 August at 06:30 AM, so-called PDF terrorists, from the northeast of the village, mounted attacks with improvised mortars, small arms and drop bombs using drones on security personnel who were conducting security measures near Yamanay village, Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region. As the security personnel returned terrorists’ fire, the latter fled in disorder to the northeast of the village, and the security personnel captured dead bodies of the terrorists and related items of ammunition.
Since the heavy weapon shells fired by the terrorists exploded in the village, six innocent people including a five-year-old child and a ten-year-old child were killed while three others got injured. Moreover, two school buildings in the compound of the Basic Education Post-Primary School were hit and damaged by the heavy weapons.
Security personnel provided necessary medical treatment to the injured victims and transported them to the Kambalu Township Public Hospital for further medical treatment.
Security personnel are doing necessary security measures to take harsh legal actions under the law against the terrorists responsible for causing deaths and injuries to innocent civilians in the above-mentioned incident and to ensure the community peace and stability, it is reported.
