On 15 July, so-called PDF terrorists arrived at Sin-ai-ma Village of Kalewa Township of Sagaing Region and launched an attack using heavy weapons and small arms against the security personnel who were carrying out security measures near Sin-ai-ma Village. Then, the terrorists set fire to the village, resulting in the destruction of residential houses including a school. As a result, small innocent civilians were killed and injured, while some security personnel sustained injuries, it is reported.
The incident happened that, on 15 July, security personnel were conducting security measures near Sin-ai-ma Village in Kalewa Township, Sagaing Region. At 06:40 AM and 11:30 AM respectively, so-called PDF terrorists launched attacks on the security personnel with significant force. In response to the attack, the security personnel retaliated, causing the terrorists to retreat. As they were retreating, the terrorists set fire to residential houses in the village as a deliberate tactic to prevent the security personnel from pursuing and attacking them further. The security personnel conducted fire extinguishing and rescuing activities, it is reported.
Due to the deliberate act of burning down residential houses, a total of 65 houses and a Basic Education Sub-Middle school were destroyed by the fire. As a result of the small arms attack carrying out by the so-called PDF terrorists, an innocent villager was killed and another was injured as well as some security personnel sustained injuries, it is reported.
So-called PDF terrorists are carrying out terrorist acts, and during these clashes with security forces, they use villagers as human shields. When the fighting breaks out near the villages and the terrorists retreat, they set fire to the villages to hinder security personnel from pursuing and attacking them further.
It has been reported that security forces continue to carry out Counter-Terrorism Operation (Counter-Terrorism Operation) for regional stability and peace in accordance with the Rules of Engagement (ROE) published in accordance with the Law of Armed Conflict based on the four Geneva Conventions.
