In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 November at 04:30 AM, a KIA armed insurgent group and a so-called PDF terrorist group attacked Shweku Town in Kachin State with heavy weapons. The heavy weapon shells landed and exploded within No. (3) Ward of Shweku Town. As a result of the explosions, U Thein Htike (40 years old), Daw Maw Maw Aye (37 years old), U Ko Zaw (50 years old), U Win Naing (35 years old), Ma May Thagyan Aye (13 years old) and Ma Ingyin Mar Lar Aye (six years old), who all live in this Ward, sustained heavy weapon shrapnel injuries respectively. They were transported to the Shweku Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 07:30 AM, a terrorist group (under scrutiny) attacked with improvised rockets onto Loikaw Town in Kayah State. The improvised rocket shells landed and exploded within the Myo-U monastery compound located in Myaenimyo-U Ward and a collective staff housing located in Naungyar (Kagyi) Ward. As a result of the explosions, Mg Thu Rain Tun (seven years old), who was present in this monastery at that time, was dead from improvised rocket shell shrapnel. Additionally, U Myat Tun Kyaw and his wife a Middle School teacher Daw Soe Soe Yi, who both live in the collective staff housing located in Naungyar (Kagyi) Ward, sustained bomb shrapnel injuries respectively. They were transported to the Loikaw Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weapons and improvise rockets in Wards and Villages, causing innocent civilians to sustain injuries and some living houses to sustain damages, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
