In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 31 August at 07:30 AM, so-called PDF terrorists surrounded Aungtharyar Village in Ye-U Township of Sagaing Region and opened fire improvised mortars toward the Village. The projectiles from the improvised mortars landed and exploded within the Village and in fields near the Village. As a result of the explosions, Ma Phyu Phyu Win, 42 years old, her daughter Ma Wai Phyo Kyaw, 9 years old and Daw Aye Pu, 87 years old, who all live in this Village, sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel and were transported to the Aungtharyar Circuit Hospital for medical treatment. Among injured individuals, Ma Wai Phyo Kyaw was transferred to the Mandalay Public Hospital for further medical treatment, however, she was dead from her injuries while receiving medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 03:00 PM, an insurgent group (under scrutiny) opened fire heavy weapons toward No. (3) Ward in Myawady Township of Kayin State. A heavy weapon’s projectile landed and exploded, resulting in injuries from projectile shrapnel to Ma Chit Pwint Phyu, 19 years old and Ma Nay Chi Phyo, 6 years old, who both live in this Ward. They were transported to the Myawady District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 09:45 PM, a terrorist group (under scrutiny) launched an attack by dropping bombs using a drone onto No. (3) Ward of Myawady Township. The bombs landed and exploded, resulting in injuries from bomb shrapnel to Ma Chuu Shwe Zin Lin, four years old, who lives in this Ward. She was transported to a Military Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against the perpetrators who recklessly opened fire heavy weapons and dropping bombs using a drone toward Wards and Villages, causing injuries to innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
