In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 14 November at 06:50 PM, a KIA armed insurgent group and a so-called PDF terrorists attacked with heavy weapons onto Shweku Town in Kachin State. The heavy weapon shells landed and exploded within No. (2) Ward of Shweku Town. As a result of the explosions, Ko Nay Lin Htet (aka) Ei Htet (29 years old), who lived in this Ward, was dead from an open wound to his parietal bone area. Additionally, U Soe Soe Myint (53 years old), Ko Aung Kyaw Kyaw (21 years old), U Ye Naing (53 years old), Ko Nge Lay (aka) Aung Myo Khant (24 years old), Ma Hnin Nu Nu Naing (28 years old), Ma Shwe Thal Pwint Kyaw (23 years old) and Daw Su Su Tin (47 years old), who all live in this Ward, sustained injuries from heavy weapon shell shrapnel. They were transported to the Shweku Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, on 15 November at 05:10 AM, a so-called PDF terrorists (under scrutiny) attacked with improvised mortars and rockets onto Kanni Village of Myaing Township, Magway Region. As a result of the attack, U Myint Swe (44 years old) and Daw Khin Nyo (51 years old), who live in this Village, sustained bomb shrapnel injuries and three living houses were damaged, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weapons, improvised mortars and improvised rockets, resulting in the death and injuries of innocent civilians and damages to living houses, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
