On 29 February at around 8:30 AM, an explosion occurred within the “Korea” port market (local name), located near the main market in Sittwe Town, Rakhine State. As a result of the explosion, several local residents were killed and injured. Consequently, the Rakhine State government and social relief associations mobilized to provide support. The injured individuals were swiftly transported to Swittwe Township Public Hospital (500 bedded) to receive medical care.
Furthermore, on 28 February AA terrorist insurgents attacked the military columns and the Township Police Force, who were conducting security operations in Pohnagyun Town. Additionally, they also launched an assault with heavy weapons on the Sittwe cantonment. It is reported that the heavy weapon shells exploded within villages in the cantonment area, leading to injuries among local residents.
