Roads/bridges are being constructed as basic infrastructure for the development of socio-economic life in the region and to facilitate convenient and swift transportation for the people. Armed insurgents who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists, who oppose peace and development in the country, have been carrying out reckless acts by blowing up and destroying roads/ bridges with homemade mines and homemade bombs.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 10 July at 01:15 AM, according to the reported indicated that a terrorist group (under scrutiny) blew up the Bridge No (1/13) located at milepost 12/2 on the Hpa-an – Thaton Road near Binji Village of Hpa-an Township, Kayin State, security personnel went to the scene to inspect. The investigation found that the left and right hand handrails of the 84-foot-long and 40-foot-wide Bridge, as well as the middle portion of the Road, sustained minor damage, it is reported.
Similarly, at 04:10 AM, an insurgent group supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups blew up a Bridge located on the Kanyutkwin-Matethalin Road located approximately five furlongs north of Khingyi Village in Phyu Township, Bago Region. As a result of the explosion, the reinforced concrete bridge, measuring 30-foot-long and 16-foot-wide, was collapsed, making it impossible for people and vehicles to pass through, it is reported.
Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridges so that it can be used by the public soon, and security force members are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the perpetrators who blew up the bridges used by public and as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
