In order to cause injuries to both peaceable individuals and administrative authorities who are working to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, departmental offices, and residential houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 December at 09:45 AM, while working in their upland field situated north of Gartar Village in Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region, Daw Win Maw (45 years old) and her mother Daw Saw Hlaing (70 years old), who both live in Gartar Village of Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region, encountered a homemade mine explosion. As a result of the explosion, Daw Saw Hlaing was dead from injuries to her abdomen and from mine shrapnel injuries in her pubic area while Daw Win Maw sustained injuries to her left armpit, thigh and left/right calves from mine shrapnel. She is currently receiving medical care at Kambalu Township Hospital, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security forces are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
