Terrorists carried out inhumane acts using explosive devices by capitalizing on unguarded moments of security personnel

     With the intent to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, terrorists of extremism provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
     In this regard, on 14 May, 2024 at 12:15 PM, acting on information stating that an explosion had occurred near Than Kone Village, Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region, security personnel promptly reached the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. The investigation revealed that U Thint Khine (50 years old), a resident of Phat Taw Yae Village, was driving in a vehicle (FAW) (License Plate No. MDY-20 3N/XXXX) along the dirt road between Than Kone Village and Ku Village. When the vehicle was near Than Kone Village, an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, exploded at the roadside. The explosion caused U Thint Khine to sustain shrapnel injuries. He was transported to No.(1) Military Hospital (100-bedded) in Meiktila Town for medical treatment, it is reported.
     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to take effective action in accordance with the law.
