Terrorists carried out inhumane acts using explosive devices by capitalizing on unguarded moments of security personnel

     With the intent to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, terrorists of extremism provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
     In this regard, on 18 May, 2024 at 6:10 PM, acting on information stating that an explosion had occurred near Koak Kal Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, security personnel promptly reached the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. The investigation revealed that Daw Khin San Win (67 years old), a resident of No. (11) Ward in Myingyan Township, U Moe Hein (43 years old), a resident of No. (13) Ward, Daw Lin Lin (50 years old), a resident of No. (12) Ward and Daw Aye Myat Mon (37 years old), a resident of No. (12) Ward, were travelling in a MAZDA FAMILIA vehicle (License Plate No. MON-1 FF/XXXX) from Mandalay City to Myingyan Town along the Myingyan-Myotha Road. When they arrived near Koak Kal Village, an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group exploded at the roadside. As a result, Daw Khin San Win died from shrapnel, while the others were not injured, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 6:20 PM, acting on information stating that an explosion had occurred at the “Mone” Creek near Yae-O Sin Village, Kyaukgyi Township, Bago Region, security personnel promptly reached the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. The investigation revealed that Ma San San Oo (29 years old) and Ma Sapal Htay (18 years old), who both live in Mone Village, Kyaukgyi Township, accidentally stepped on an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, causing it to detonate while the two girls were going to the creek to get water. As a result, they sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to Phyu Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to take effective action in accordance with the law.
