Terrorists carried out inhumane acts using explosive devices by capitalizing on unguarded moments of security personnel

In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 October, 2024 at 7:30 AM, a report stated that an explosion occurred near Mee Laung Chaung Village in Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Maung Too (36 years old), a resident of Aung Myay Village in Sinku Township of Mandalay Region and U Yar Zar Aung (32 years old), a resident of Hoke Kone Village in Sinku Township, were travelling in a FUSO vehicle (Licnese Plate No. MDY-12 2E/XXXX) from Myeik Town to Palaw Town. When the vehicle reached near Mee Laung Chaung Village, an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group exploded on the roadside. As a result, U Yar Zar Aung sustained shrapne wounds and was transported to Myeik District Public Hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, U Maung Too was not injured, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
