With the intent to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extremist terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 June, 2024 at 9:05 AM, security personnel received a report stating that a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Tanintharyi Township Public Hospital in Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was Ma Pan Wit Hmone (17 years old), a resident of Mawtone (east) village, Tanintharyi Township. When she left home for Ban La Mot village together with her friend Ma Nyein Myat Wai (17 years old), a resident of Ban La Mot village and arrived near the entrance of the village, an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group exploded. As a result, Ma Pan Wit Hmone sustained shrapnel injuries but her friend was not injured, it is reported.
Similarly, on 16 June, 2024 at 7:00 PM, security personnel received a report stating that a man with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Madauk Station Hospital, Nyaunglaybin Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was U Maung (53 years old), a resident of Myoma (2) ward, Madauk Town of Nyaunglaybin Township. When he was harrowing in the paddy field with his tractor, a mine planted by KNU members supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists exploded and the victim got shrapnel injuries.
It is reported that the security personnel are taking measures to identify the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above-mentioned incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
