In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 September, 2024 at 9:30 PM, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists attacked by detonating explosive devices at the Yangon-Mawlamyine road mileposts between 133/6 and 133/7 near Kamar Sai Village in Thaton Township of Mon State. The attack targeted a passenger Toyota Hiace vehicle (License Plate No. BGO-11 3Q-XXXX) travelling from Thaton Town to Bilin Town. As a result, U Phyo Wai Kyaw (37 years old) and U Kyaw Myo Thu (31 years old), a resident of Min Village in Tanatpin Township of Bago Region, were died on the spot. Additionally, Daw Khin Than Win (60 years old), Ma Phyu Sin Min (29 years old), both residents of Kyun Gyi Village in Tanatpin Township, Ma Yin Yin Nwe (31 years old), a resident of Min Village, Daw Cho Mar (52 years old), a resident of Pha Ye Village, and Daw Win Win Htway (33 years old), a resident of Kyu Chaung Village, all sustained shrapnel injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Thaton District Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
