In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices, and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 January at 3:00 PM, a report stated that an explosion on the dirt road near mile posts 284/2 of the Yangon-Mandalay Highway, close to Paykone Village of Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that an improvised tripwire-connected mine, planted by terrorists, had exploded at the location. As a result, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung (28 years old), who lives in Shwepyiyanaung Ward of Pyawbwe Town and Ko Htet Lin Aung (22 years old), who lives in Minlanmyauk Village of Pyawbwe Township, were passing through at that time and sustained injuries from mine shrapnel. Additionally, security personnel discovered an approximately 20-foot long wire, an approximately 40-foot long nylon rope, and a motorcycle battery at the crime scene. The injured individuals were transported to Pyawbwe Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the offenders of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
