In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 January at 10:30 PM, Ko Zaw Chin (24 years old), who lives in Sut Ngai Ward of Tanai Township, Kachin State, was leaving home on his motorcycle to search for pieces of iron. As he arrived next to Nanphyu Creek near the Labukha gold prospecting old area in Minekhun (Montkhaung) Village of Tanai Township, his motorcycle triggered a tripwire-connected mine planted by a KIA armed insurgent group, resulting in an explosion. As a result, Ko Zaw Chin sustained injuries from mine shrapnel and was transported to Tanai Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 23 January at 9:15 AM, a report stated that an explosion occurred in Aungmyae Ward of Palnwekone Town in Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Aung Ko Ko Lwin (29 years old), who lives in this Ward, was heading to the cemetery in Aungmyae Ward to collect the plums. When he arrived beneath a plum tree, he stepped on a landmine planted by a group, consisting of KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists, exploded. As a result, U Aung Ko Ko Lwin sustained injuries from mine shrapnel and was transported to Palnwekone Circuit Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
