In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 February at 11:45 AM, a report stated that an explosion had occurred near Shwepaukpin Ward of Pauk Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw Phyu Thin (41 years old) and her elder sister Daw Phyu Win (43 years old) who both live in this ward, were walking back home from a field located southwest of Pauk Town where they had been collecting cattle feed. As they approached a field belonging to U Kyaw Soe (58 years old), also a resident of the same ward, Daw Phyu Thin stepped on a landmine planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, exploded. As a result, Daw Phyu Thin was dead from mine shrapnel, it is reported.
Similarly, at 12:55 PM, a report stated that an explosion had occurred near Wardatkwin Village of Kyaikto Township, Mon State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ko Yan Naing Soe (28 years old), who lives in this Village, was heading to a forest located approximately 23 miles northwest of Wardatkwin Village to gather firewood when he unintentionally triggered a landmine planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, exploded. As a result, Ko Yan Naing Soe suffered injuries from mine shrapnel and was transported to Theinzayat Circuit Hospital for medical attention, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
