In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, streets, railways, government offices, and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 February at 7:45 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred inside garbage on the roadside near the “Sea View Condo” apartment in Yaepone Ward, Myeik Township, Tanintharyi Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that an explosive device, planted by a terrorist group, had exploded at the site. The explosion resulted in injuries to U Zaw Lin Oo (37 years old), and Daw Thin Thin Soe (42 years old), who both live in Yaepone Ward in Myeik Township, as well as Mg Nay Lin (25 years old), a resident of Kanmaw Village in Kyunsu Township, who was passing by at that time. The injured individuals were transported to Myeik Township Public Hospital for medical treatment. However, U Zaw Lin Oo succumbed to his injuries while under medical care, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
