Terrorists carried out inhumane acts using explosive devices by capitalizing on unguarded moments of security personnel

In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 January at 08:15 AM, a report stated that an explosion had occurred beneath the Ahnoutbat Bridge near Ahnoutbat Village of Shwegyin Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Win Shwe (59 years old), who lives in Thaunglal Village of Shwegyin Township, had fallen and severed his left calf. The incident was verified that he was collecting cans under the bridge and accidentally triggered a landmine planted by terrorists, causing an explosion. Consequently, U Win Shwe sustained the aforementioned injuries and was transported to Shwegyin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
