In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices, and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 4 January at 07:00 AM, U Phoe Wai (47 years old), who lives in Gartar Village of Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region, was heading to a cow pasture located approximately four furlongs northwest of the village to herd cows. During this time, an improvised mine planted by so-called PDF terrorists, exploded. As a result, U Phoe Wai sustained injuries form mine shrapnel to his right leg. He is currently under medical treatment at Kambalu District Public Hospital, it is reported.
Similarly, at 10:50 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred near “Tabinshwehtee” Bean Wholesale Center located on the city bypass road in No. (2) Ward of Maubin Town, Ayeyawady Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that an improvised mine, planted by terrorists, detonated within the bushes along the drain outside the wholesale center. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or damage to people or buildings, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
