In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices, and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 5 January at 08:00 AM, a report stated that an explosion occurred in Selgyi Village of Kambalu Township, Sagaing Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw Win Mar (43 years old), who lives in this Village, was heading cows near a creek located approximately one mile east of the village. Unfortunately, she inadvertently stepped on an improvised mine planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, exploded. As a result, Daw Win Mar sustained injuries form mine shrapnel and was transported to Kambalu Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 05:00 PM, a report stated that a male with injuries from a mine explosion had arrived at the Township Public Hospital in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Yan Shin Aung (27 years old) along with his wife, Daw Soe Myat Nwe (26 years old), who both live in Tayoketan Ward of Shwegyin Township, were on their way to the Warboe forest (local name) for bamboo cutting when U Yan Shin Aung stepped on a landmine planted by KNU members who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorist group, exploded. As a result U Yan Shin Aung sustained injuries from mine shrapnel, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
