In order to cause injuries to both peaceable individuals and administrative authorities who are working to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, departmental offices, and residential houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 October at 09:15 AM, a team, led by a head engineer from the Myanma Railway Division (2) (Ywarhtaung), collaborated with security personnel to repair the railway track and cleaning the surrounding bushes and weeds along the Sagaing-Shwebo-Myitkyinar railway located between Thalin railway station and Puakkan railway station in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region. When they arrived near the railway milepost 422/8, train guard U Zaw Hein stepped on a homemade mine planted by so-called PDF terrorists which exploded beside the railway track. As a result of the explosion, U Zaw Hein sustained injuries from mine shrapnel to his right sole. The security provided necessary medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
