In order to cause injuries to both peaceable individuals and administrative authorities who are working to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, departmental offices and residential houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 December at 12:30 PM, a report stated that a male with mine shrapnel injuries had arrived at the Township Public Hospital in Kyaukgyi Town, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that Ko Aung Min Thu (30 years old), who lives in Lapat Village of Kyaukgyi Township, had his left ankle severed. The incident was verified that, on the earlier that day at 10:25 AM, while Ko Aung Min Thu was herding cows near a creek close to Lapat Village, a land mine planted by terrorists exploded. This incident resulted in the aforementioned injuries to Ko Aung Min Thu, it is reported.
Similarly, at 05:20 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred near the “Win” store on the roadside of the Pyinoolwin-Mandalay road (down-road) in No. (3) Ward of Patheingyi Town, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that a terrorist (under scrutiny) had placed a homemade mine inside a garbage can in front of the “Win” store, which exploded. As a result of the explosion, there were no injuries or damages to people or buildings, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
