In order to cause injuries to both peaceable individuals and administrative authorities who are working to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, departmental offices and residential houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 December at 07:55 AM, a report stated that an explosion occurred on the roadside in front of the PRO-1 Building material store located on No. (2) road in No. (13) Ward of Dagon Myothit (Eastern) Township, Yangon Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that U Myint Sai (40 years old), who lives in No. (17) Ward of Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township and U Htoo Ahl (35 years old), who lived in No. (42) Ward of Dagon Myothit (Northern) Township, were riding a bicycle along the No. (2) road. When they arrived in front of the PRO-1 Building material store, a homemade mine inside a paper box exploded on the roadside. As a result of the explosion, U Myint Sai and U Htoo Ahl sustained injuries from mine shrapnel. Unfortunately, U Htoo Ahl was dead from while being transported to a Military Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 08:35 PM, Saw Wai Doe Htoo (14 years old), who lived in Paypinseik Village of Hpa-an Township, Kayin State, was heading to a field by the roadside near Paypinseik Village to set traps for rats. While on his way, he stepped on a mine planted by a terrorist group (under scrutiny), which exploded. As a result of the explosion, Saw Wai Doe Htoo sustained injuries from mine shrapnel. Unfortunately, Saw Wai Doe Htoo was dead from while being transported to Hpa-an District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
