In order to cause injuries to both peaceable individuals and administrative authorities who are working to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, departmental offices and residential houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 December at 03:30 PM, Mg Aung Zin Phyo (15 years old), who lives in Thaungpu Village of Phyu Township, Bago Region, was spraying pesticides in a field near the village. While working, he accidentally stepped on a land mine planted by KNU members who support terrorism and a so-called PDF terrorists. The mine exploded, causing Mg Aung Zin Phyo to sustain injuries from mine shrapnel. He was transported to Phyu Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 05:35 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred at the corner of 80th and 36th Streets in Yadanarbume (East) Ward of Mahaaungmye Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a terrorist (under scrutiny) hurled a homemade bomb at the pet fish shop owned by Ko Tay Zar Aung (36 years old), who lives in this Ward, before fleeing. The bomb fell on the shop’s roof and detonated. Fortunately, the explosion did not cause any injuries or damage to people or structures, it is reported.
Likewise, on 21 December at 08:05 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred in No. (57) Ward of Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township, Yangon Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Daw San Nwet (55 years old), who lives in this Ward, was arriving at her betel nut shop located at the corner of Zayyarmying Street and Ahnawyahtar Street to open it for the day. At that moment, a homemade mine planted by a so-called PDF terrorists, exploded under the betel nut shop. As a result of the explosion, Daw San Nwet sustained injuries from mine shrapnel and was transported to a Military Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
