In order to cause casualties of peaceable people and administrative authorities who are working for restoring rule of law, extreme terrorists receiving financial assistance are carrying out destructive activities against public roads, streets, railways and departmental offices with homemade bombs and mines.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 August at 01:30 PM, according to the report that two deceased individuals with mine shrapnel injuries were arrived at the Monywa Township Public Hospital in Sagaing Region, security personnel went to the hospital to inspect. The investigation found that U Than Naing (aka) Naing Naing, 57 years old, and his elder cousin-sister Daw Ma Lay, 65 years old, who both lived in Kyoepinkone Village of Monywa Township, were found dead with mine shrapnel injuries. The incident was verified that at 12:50 PM, U Than Naing (aka) Naing Naing and Daw Ma Lay were traveling on a motorcycle from Shwebo Town to Monywa Town along the Shwebo-Ayartaw-Monywa Road. When they arrived in front of the Fire Station in Kyaukkaw (ma) Village in Monywa Township, a homemade mine planted by so-called PDF terrorists exploded on the roadside. As a result, they were dead from above mentioned injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 09:20 AM, four individuals including locomotive driver U Khin Zaw, were on board the No. (686) Up train, which consisted of eight coaches, loaded with stones and was en route from Bilin Town to Thaton Town. When the train reached the railway mile post between 123 and 124 located between Theinseit railway station and Donwun railway station and within the vicinity of Padeinyoe Village and Kalikhun Village of Thaton Township, a regional mine planted by members of an armed group who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists exploded. As a result, there were no damages to train coaches, however, approximately one foot of the railway track was damaged, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security forces are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with laws.
