In order to cause casualties of peaceable people and administrative authorities who are working for restoring rule of law, extreme terrorists receiving financial assistance are carrying out destructive activities against public roads, streets and departmental offices with homemade bombs and mines.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 May at 07:45 PM, according to the report that an explosion occurred on 9th Street between 73rd and 74th Streets in Upotetaw Ward of Aungmyaythazan Township, Mandalay Region, security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. According to the investigation, it is found that two male terrorists (under scrutiny), who were riding a motorcycle along 9th Street from east to west, threw a pull-string grenade at the Ward Administrator office in this Ward. The grenade exploded near the Office’s fence, causing minor damage to the bottom of the fence, it is reported.
Similarly, on 19 May at 07:15 AM, according to the report that an explosion occurred on 52(A) Street between 103rd and 104th Streets of Aungpinle Ward in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region, security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. According to the investigation, it is found that two male terrorists (under scrutiny), who were riding a motorcycle along 52(A) Street from south to north, threw a homemade bomb at the house of 100-household administrator U Than Naing in this Ward. The bomb exploded in front of the U Than Naing’s house, causing injuries to U Than Naing’s mother Daw Ni, 67 years old (Father) U Phoe Khway, U Phoe Chit, 38 years old (Father) U Hla Win, Daw Aye Aye Nwe, 37 years old (Father) U Lulay, all residents of the Ward. They were transported to the Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment, however, Daw Ni died from her bomb injuries while receiving medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security forces are investigating the perpetrators of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with laws.
A woman was killed, and a man and another woman were injured in a homemade bomb explosion which was threw by terrorists in Chanmyathazi Township.
