Thabeikkyin and Mohnyin Townships, administrative official and innocent civilian were shot and killed by terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace- seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 13 January at 1:00 PM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire in Shwekhunpin Village in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Pauktapin Village Group Administrator U Tin Khine (45 years old), who lived in this village, was at home with his family. A group of eight so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), arrived on four motorcycles. They accused U Tin Khine of being an “informant” or “decoy (Dalan)”and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Tin Khine was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 7:45 PM, U San Lin Soe (40 years old), and his wife, Ma Htay Htay Win, who both live in No. (2) Ward of Nanmon Town in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, were warming themselves by a fire in their house yard. At that moment two terrorists (under investigation) form KIA armed insurgent group and a so-called PDF terrorist group, entered their yard and opened fire on U San Lin Soe. As a result, U San Lin Soe was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and assassination of administrative official and innocent civilian in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
