The Basic Education High School in Tonzang Town was set on fire by terrorists

     On 15 December terrorists set fire to the Basic Education High School in Tonzang Town in Chin State, it is reported.

    On 15 December at 06:05 AM, a report stated that a fire at the Basic Education High School in Tonzang Town, Chin State. A collaborative team comprising security personnel and Fire Service personnel arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire within apporximately 20 minutes. The fire had spread to the headmaster’s office, located on the upper floor of a two-story teaching building, as well as the teachers’ rest room and several other teaching buildings. As a result of the blaze, furniture and office items were burned and destroyed. The incident was verified to be linked to a threatening letter and a bullet sent by a terrorist group, the C.M.D.A guerilla force, on 13 December to the school's headmaster. The group had demanded the closure of the school and cessation of teaching, but despite the threat, the school remained open. Subsequently, the terrorists set fire to the school, it is reported.

    Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who setting fire to the school as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
