Roads/ bridges are being constructed as basic infrastructure for the development of socio-economic life in the region and to facilitate convenient and swift transportation for the people. Armed insurgents who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists, who oppose peace and development in the country, have been carrying out reckless acts by blowing up and destroying roads/ bridges with homemade mines and homemade bombs.
The incident happened that, on 13 June at 05:30 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number - under scrutiny) blew up the No. (4/31) Paluzawa reinforced concrete Creek Bridge located between mileposts 19 and 19/1 on the Kalewa-Mawlaik Road, which is situated near Paluzawa Village in Kalewa Township of Sagaing Region. As a result of the explosion, three and half feet of the bridge floor and two bridge handrails. The bridge, measuring 30 feet in length and 18 feet in width, is now only passable for pedestrians and small vehicles. Additionally, the zinc roofs of the two residential houses located near the scene were destroyed, it is reported.
Responsible officials are now repairing the damaged bridge so that it can be used by the public soon, and security force members are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the terrorists who blew up the public bridge as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
