In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts by detonating roads and bridges, as well as dropping bombs and firing heavy arms on non-military targets, such as Ward and Villages where innocent civilians reside.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 24 May at 10:50 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number – under scrutiny) opened fire improvised mortars towards Aungmingalar Ward in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region. The attack was launched from fields beside the Khin-U – Zeegon Road located approximately one mile northeast of the Ward. One mortar bomb exploded on the power substation within the Township Electric Office compound located in this Ward, while four other bombs exploded in an empty yard within the office compound. As a result of the explosion, a zinc roof, a ceiling, an 11 KV meter dial, Zaliphar panel glass, a 33 KV Zaliphar panel relay dial and DC panels were damaged, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating to take punitive action against those terrorists who recklessly opened fire with improvised mortars towards the Ward, where innocent civilians live, as soonest in line with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
